The Department of Applied Computer Science at The University of Winnipeg invites outstanding candidates to apply for a probationary appointment at the rank of Instructor in the field of Information Systems. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence July 1, 2023. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who self-identify as women or Indigenous persons.

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline at the time of appointment. Applicants must have teaching or professional experience in the field of Information Systems with a focus on at least one of the following areas:
• IT and business application systems;
• Internet and database-based applications;
• Information management, security and privacy;
• Business and software project management;
• Technical writing and communication in business; or
• Integration, standards, quality assurance and risks for IT business systems.

Exceptional individuals with expertise in related fields will also be considered.

The successful candidate must have a strong record of teaching excellence and have experience instructing large enrollment classes at the post-secondary level. They will be required to teach introductory programming courses and to supervise the department’s capstone Senior Systems Development Project course. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in Departmental and University service.
