Wonder Women Networking Evening

Wonder Women Networking Evening

“Networking is not about just connecting people. It’s about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities.” – Michele Jannae

Looking to expand your circle of professional women in STEM? Then the Wonder Women Networking Evening (WWNE) is for you.

The WWNE is designed for university students, early career professionals and those considering a career change. During the event, participants connect with some incredible “Wonder Women” in STEM who are successful in their fields and passionate about sharing their expertise with the next generation of STEM leaders. The next WWNE will be taking place in March 2025. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when tickets go on sale.

The Wonder Women Networking Evening has been taking place for over 30 years.

Event Information

This event is for those who identify as women in STEM fields, and creates mentoring connections for women and other equity-deserving groups who often lack these opportunities in their workplaces. We invite participants and mentors who identify as trans, genderqueer, non-binary, two-spirit, or gender questioning to join this incredible networking event and supportive SCWIST community.

In recent years, the WWNE has taken place virtually on Zoom to engage women across Canada. Breakout rooms are used for several rounds of networking with attendees and Wonder Women mentors. Two Wonder Women in the same or similar fields host each room. Attendees are assigned to rooms based on the fields they are interested in, which are selected during registration. Participants also receive a “WWNE Field Guide” ahead of time to learn about the various Wonder Women mentors and their diverse career pathways.

Not sure how to network, and virtually? Not to worry – the night starts with some networking “how-tos” and tips. Just show up with a question or two, your curiosity and ready to listen!
