The Associate Vice President, Digital Transformation & Chief Information Officer (AVP & CIO) is a transformative leadership role with significant Institute-wide influence, and is tasked with establishing the strategic vision for Information Technology Services. The AVP & CIO has the unique opportunity to be a visionary leader, spearheading the creation and advancement of digital capabilities that will support BCIT’s growth today and into the future. In addition, they will have the opportunity to influence at the provincial level, in partnership with other post secondary institutions. At BCIT, technology stands as a fundamental pillar across the organization, supporting every aspect from senior leadership to students, programs, and teaching methodologies. BCIT envisions technology integrating with the campus environment, enhancing the educational experience and transforming the overall institutional landscape. The AVP & CIO will shape this vision, steering BCIT towards a smart campus, a forward-looking initiative that transcends the current technological landscape. The ideal candidate is an experienced technology executive who has a demonstrated understanding of the role information technology plays in creating strategic value and impact on operational success in a large, complex, multi-stakeholder organization. The AVP & CIO has the courage to support innovative thinking, envision possibilities, and mobilize people to realize these possibilities by cultivating diverse ideas, thoughts, and perspectives. The candidate possesses a supportive leadership approach and the ability to lead in complex situations, working collaboratively and with confidence, to balance the needs of diverse partner groups and customers. The AVP & CIO has a demonstrable reputation as a skillful listener and communicator, able to connect with audiences at all levels, and is known for their ability to enable sustainable solutions that meet the goals of an enterprise. Additionally, the AVP & CIO has a track record of technology transformation and project management delivery, including the proven ability to develop, plan, and deliver mission critical initiatives on time and on budget. In addition, the candidate will possess a lifelong commitment to learning and the power of education.

The salary range for the AVP, Digital Transformation & CIO position is $193,606 – 278,308 and the control point is $242,007. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and the control point of the salary range for a job, taking internal equity into account.
