Youth Engagement Volunteer Opportunities
Are you passionate about SCWIST and looking for a way to get more involved? We’re on the lookout for some stellar volunteers to support the team.
You can learn more about each program and its volunteer positions below. We hope you’ll apply! Applications will be reviewed as received. Please note if you are interested in volunteering for more than one program, you will need to fill out a form for each position.
Program Descriptions
Our eMentoring program is a virtual 6-8 week program that matches a professional in STEM with a student based on the student’s interests, with prompts provided each week from our ms infinity Coordinators. The time commitment is about 1 hour a week through email or video calling.
Our Quantum Leaps events are 1 hour virtual panels, composed of professional women in STEM and geared towards high school students to expose them to careers in STEM. These take place once a month or so and are a great speaking opportunity!
Our STEM Explore workshops are in-person STEM workshops for Gr. K-7 that take place during the school day with a classroom of students. Each workshop typically lasts about 1.5-2 hours.
