(American) Association for Women in Science Educational and Professional Development Awards

The AWIS Educational and Professional Development Awards support travel for professional development, broadly defined (e.g. funding requests to attend a conference, to acquire specialised training, or to pursue professional development in other ways that take them from home.)

Deadline: September 16, 2012 for travel that starts between December 1, 2012 and April 30, 2013.

Awards are $1,000 to $3,000.

Allowable expenses: Registration (tuition), transportation (e.g. economy airfare), housing, per diem for meals and incidental expenses, or dependent care can be included in the proposed budget. Expenses for conducting research while traveling are not allowed.
