In honour of Ada Lovelace Day, Science World British Columbia is proud to present its Innovators Speakers Series – STEM Talks. This Series aims to recognize the accomplishments of BC women working in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by holding a unique speaker event to celebrate their work. The speakers will share their thoughts on working in STEM fields, provide insight on diversity amongst women and minorities entering into STEM fields, and share ideas on how we can be a part of the positive change to help bridge the gap.

Don’t miss these astounding STEM women speak about their efforts:

  • Dr. Amiee Chan, President and CEO, Norsat International Inc.
  • Dr. Elizabeth Croft ,Associate Dean, Education and Professional Development, UBC, NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering, BC & Yukon Region
  • Dr. Jennifer Gardy, Senior Scientist, Molecular Epidemiology, BC Centre for Disease Control
  • Dr. Janet H. Kennedy, President, Microsoft Canada
  • Genevieve L’Esperance, Graduate of McGill University with a BSc joint Major in Computer Science and Biology

At all ages, enjoy a night of stimulating presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities with women in STEM fields and help Science World raise funds in support of its Scientists and Innovators in the Schools (SIS) program. SIS addresses BC’s need for more scientists, engineers, technologists, and mathematicians and promotes students’ interests in STEM fields.
