Facts vs. Myths on Liver Disease [Event Recap]

Back to Posts

January 19th, 2012, SCWIST organised an educational and interactive event entitled “Facts vs. Myths in Liver Disease”, presented by Elena Murgoci, Director for BC/Yukon Region of the Liver Foundation of Canada. The meeting was held at Canada’s Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre, BC Cancer Agency who kindly provided the space.

Within a relaxed atmosphere, the group of participants gained insight into not widely or well-known facts concerning liver diseases, like Hepatitis “B” and “C” – causes, treatments and possible cures. It was a successful and informative evening in which the speaker wonderfully demystified many myths about liver disease such as its causes and whether only adults can contract it.

What our attendees say:
“Wonderful speaker, friendly environment and very useful information”
“… eye opening”
“Good information!”
