On March 21st 2012, SCWIST in partnership with DAWEG held Dress for Success, the first of five workshops in a series on Personal Branding. About 30 men and women attended the event which was held at the Hyatt in Vancouver.
Image Consultant Joyce Lau of Fashionista Bootcamp started the evening off with having everyone participate in a fun activity where insight was shared regarding clothes and personality. The influence of colour, texture and lines on people’s image were shared by the speaker. She also talked about how to combine the three to end up with the image we desire. For example, straight lines and darker colours give an impression of authority while lighter colours and designs impart creativity.
Joyce provided a check list of items that every man and woman should have in their wardrobe. The atendees walked away from Joyce’s presentation enlightened and equipped with tools to strategically dress for the image they’d like to portray. The event ended with further networking over delicious dessert catered by Hyatt staff.
