Presidents Blog: August 2013

Dear SCWIST Community,

Happy Summer! July has gone by way too fast, and I find the fabulous weather slipping away before I can enjoy it.

So why can’t I slow down? I’m too excited about SCWIST’s plans over the next 12 month and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Our fabulous team gathered around a boardroom table a few weeks back to come up with goals for the year. We asked each other a lot of questions and came up with a lot of answers! Here’s a teaser of some of the things we discussed:

Are our members really getting the most out of their membership?

Sure we’re efficient…but can we do better?

How can we work with other like-minded organizations and leverage each other’s strengths in support of our vision?

Fundraising is essential to any organization’s success… are we looking at all of the opportunities available to ensure SCWIST can undertake all of its important initiatives?

These are just a few of the questions we are addressing over the next several months but we need your help too! SCWIST is for you, the members, so if there’s anything you think we can help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Finally, SCWIST has a very exciting program we’re launching in a few months and we need all of our members to get involved. SCWIST’s members and partners have been laying a solid foundation and network for the past 30 years and this project is going to leverage what we have built and will be part of our legacy. Stay tuned for an announcement in the coming weeks!
