Innovation in Education Scholarship

Value: $500

LA Tutors awards students who showcase their creativity and make positive impacts with a $500 Innovation in Education scholarship. On an ongoing monthly basis, this scholarship is open to all currently enrolled high school, college, and graduate students who showcase their creativity while helping those around them (whether that be in a creative fundraiser, an inventive new app, series of blog posts on a particular theme, or another idea). The application deadline is 11:59 pm PST on the 20th of each month.

Value: $1,000

The Dotcom-Monitor Women in Computing Scholarship is open to female students currently enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada. Applicants should have either already declared their major or have completed at least one academic year in computer science, computer engineering, or closely related technical field.

The Society awards up to 15 scholarships annually to recognize women who are excelling at the study of Computer/Data Science, Engineering or Mathematics at the post-secondary level. At least two of these scholarships are dedicated to a woman of Indigenous ancestry.

CEMF John Evans Engineering Entrance Award

Value: $5,000, and also includes a potential summer engineering work placement opportunity with Fortis Inc. at one of their Canadian utilities, after your second or third year of study.

John Evans, P.Eng was a Director and Vice-President of the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation (CEMF), a committed supporter of women in engineering and a CEMF scholarship judge. His legacy included a donation for an award to be made to a young Canadian woman entering an accredited engineering program in Canada from high school. It is not based on academic achievement.
