Ignite: STEM Networking Night
The Wonder Women Networking Evening is entering a new chater as Ignite: STEM Networking Night, and will be bringing mentorship, support and inspiration to communities across Canada in 2025.
From XX to Wonder Women to Ignite
Since its launch, the Wonder Women Networking Evening (WWNE) has been one of SCWIST’s signature events, bringing in hundreds of STEM leaders, both accomplished and emerging, to meet, mingle and mentor each year.
Originally known as the XX Evening when it was conceived in 1991, the event was created to fill the need of individuals who lacked access to valuable networking opportunities in their workplaces. In 2016, the event was rebranded as the Wonder Women Networking Evening, where it continued to create hundreds of networking and mentorship opportunities for women and equity-deserving groups in STEM each year.
Now, as SCWIST embarks on a national expansion, WWNE will become Ignite, representing a refreshed vision and a renewed commitment to empowering the next generation of STEM leaders across Canada.
Igniting Opportunities Across Canada
In 2025, Ignite will travel from coast to coast, bringing in-person mentorship and networking events to communities across Canada. Each event will bring SCWIST’s impactful networking experience while offering a chance for women to connect with peers, mentors and STEM leaders from their own communities.

Alongside in-person networking with Ignite, SCWIST will be offering several virtual career development opportunities in 2025, including our Women In STEM Virtual Career Fair and year-round skill-building workshops. Topics will range from networking and resume building to interview skills and more, making mentorship and professional growth accessible to all.
