Learn to Communicate More Strategically

You communicate multiple times every day. And sometimes people on the receiving end respond as you’d like. But sometimes they don’t. This workshop will help you increase your effectiveness in the workplace and other related situations. We break down the components of the process and provide proven strategies to communicate more strategically. You arrive at the workshop having identified areas in which you want to become more impactful, and then learn and practice applying a strategic frame and research-supported approaches relevant to a wide range of personal and professional communication situations.

Speaker: Shari Graydon
Facilitator and Informed Opinions Catalyst, Shari Graydon brings a wealth of knowledge, drawing on her 30 years of experience in politics, journalism, public relations and teaching. She has trained thousands of women and gender-diverse individuals to effectively communicate their insights and influence public opinion through the media and in person, in writing and through presentations. Shari creates a dynamic and supportive learning environment where participants feel comfortable exploring new techniques and concepts.

This workshop is part of series of workshops that will be offered by SCWIST and Informed Opinions to women in STEM, partners, advocates and allies. Our goal is to develop skills in strategic communication, persuasion, writing compelling commentary, and media interviews; which will create more advocacy champions to address the challenges that women and diverse folks face in STEM workplaces.
