FULL-TIME, TENURE-TRACK APPOINTMENT IN COMPUTING SCIENCE
The Department of Mathematics and Computing Science at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computing Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is July 1st, 2021. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Computing Science. Although applicants with a research specialty in any area of Computing Science are welcome, preference will be given to those with expertise in areas that are not presently represented in the Department. The successful candidate will provide evidence indicating an ability to develop and maintain an innovative, externally-funded research program in Computing Science, including the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and will be expected to play an active role in the administration of the Department of Mathematics and Computing Science, the Faculty of Science, and the University in general. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate classroom and computer lab instruction at the introductory through senior levels, possibly in a virtual classroom/lab setting.
The Department offers Majors and Honours programs in Computing Science which are accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Council of the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS). Undergraduate students are actively involved in faculty research. Graduate students are enrolled in the Applied Science (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) programs or in the Master of Science in Computing and Data Analytics (M.Sc. CDA) program.
