SUMMARY:Antimicrobial Resistance Across Canada: Youth Leading Change in Policy and Practice
DESCRIPTION:Join SCWIST\, CanAMR Net\, and EPIC on November 17 during National AMR Week for a special event hosted by Ridhima Aurora\, a SCWIST Quantum Leaps Grade 11 student from Calgary\, Alberta. \nRidhima will lead a thought-provoking discussion with two of Canada’s leading scientists — Dr. Natasha Christie-Holmes and Dr. Robert Andrew Kozak — exploring the urgent issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the importance of coordinated national action. \nThis youth-led event will highlight Ridhima’s analysis\, “Mapping Canada’s AMR Policy Landscape: A Cross-Jurisdictional Review of the 13 Provinces and Territories\,” which examines policy strengths\, gaps\, and opportunities for collaboration across the country. \nTogether\, the speakers will unpack how science\, innovation\, and policy must work hand-in-hand to protect public health and build a future resilient to antimicrobial threats.
