Quantum Leaps Burnaby Conference
Date of Event: March 28, 2015
The Quantum Leaps Burnaby was a daylong event designed to inspire young women to consider pursuing careers in Science and Technology. The program, which was first initiated by the Society of Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST), has been successfully run since 1990 in communities across British Columbia and the Yukon. Each conference features brilliant role models; Women who currently work in key positions in science-based occupations lead hands on workshops, and give lectures on their lives and careers. University students studying these various fields serve on panels addressing important questions from their experiences in post secondary.
This event was organized by a team of Grade 11 & 12 students who brought together fellow Burnaby students to inspire and aid the transition between high school and a higher education.
